This article records a finding published on 26 September 2026, using data from January–July 2026. The infographic and linked newsletter are in Spanish.
Over the past week, I have been talking with some of the 400 people who use my SICETAC al Instante application. First, I am delighted to hear how they use it and what they have to say about this project. THANK YOU!
In these conversations, knowing the market rate, or valor en plaza, is a priority for almost everyone. I have therefore set out to begin our most detailed research to date into its dynamics, behavior and trends. I am putting the AI skills I have learned over these months to work, with a group of agents looking for patterns.
Here is an initial finding: on 49% of the routes, the difference relative to SICETAC with 4 logistics hours is 20% or more.
We spend a great deal of time discussing overregulation, yet these market rates are well above the reference.
How to read this finding
- The comparison. Each route’s estimated market rate against its SICETAC cost calculated with 4 logistics hours. The difference is the average premium.
- The scope. 456 routes for the 3S3 configuration, using the January–July 2026 average.
- The result. 224 of 456 routes (49.1%) have an average premium of at least 20%.
- Distribution by average-premium band:
- Below -10%: 0 routes (0.0%).
- -10% to 0%: 25 routes (5.5%).
- 0% to 10%: 149 routes (32.7%).
- 10% to 20%: 58 routes (12.7%).
- 20% to 40%: 98 routes (21.5%).
- 40% or more: 126 routes (27.6%).
Three points to keep the interpretation within its limits:
- The time assumption matters. Moving from 8 hours to 4 lowers the calculated SICETAC cost and raises the premium, even if the market rate stays the same.
- These are averages by route. They do not represent every trip on each route.
- A high premium does not equal a profit margin.
Percentages are rounded to one decimal place.
